A Sweet Treat from My Kitchen to Yours
Janna’s Christmas Cookies

Imagine a candied fruit cookie…a perfect holiday indulgence.
1 cup of crisco or butter
2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup of sour milk (1/2 tbsp of vinegar or lemon juice and enough milk to make a 1/2 cup. Stir and stand for 5 minutes before using.)
3 1/2 cups of sifted flour
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of baking soda
1 1/2 cups of broken pecans
2 cups of candied cherries
2 cups of chopped dates
Mix together and chill dough for 1 hour. After the dough is properly chilled, scoop into 1 inch balls and place on a non-stick cookie pan. Bake at 350-400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
